Process of Gathering and Analyzing Information
The process of gathering information began with first finding research and articles about the lack of student global understanding in the classroom. Many of these articles gave some suggestions for incorporating globalism and multicultural education into the classroom curriculum, but not all of them describe practical ways to reduce students’ ethnocentrism. It is important, however, to understand other cultures’ impressions of United States students’ ethnocentrism, which is evident in the Garii (2000) and Scott (1999) articles that give examples of exchange students’ impressions of American students.
